CAST GUI*

CAST GUI is an intuitive JIRA integrated tool that simplifies the process of creating and executing tests, managing test libraries, and effortlessly generating new tests. With its user-friendly interface and guided tools, the non-technical tester can easily create test scenarios and plans, and execute them in seconds.

Problem_

Although the first version of the CAST GUI fell short of convincing the clients due to its complexity and poor user experience, they were nonetheless astounded by its revolutionary concept, which aimed to streamline the automation testing process.

Redesigning Process_

The GUI redesign involved mapping, observing, and identifying friction points, followed by a complete restructuring to retain positives and eliminate negatives, resulting in an improved design.

Mapping the current GUI_

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing system and identify issues, we meticulously mapped the entire workflow architecture.

Findings_

After conducting a thorough analysis, we identified four key issues that contribute to increased friction points for users.

  • Numerous choices without a definite path
  • Absence of concise user feedback
  • Unclear and puzzling navigation
  • Difficulty in rectifying errors

Re-map & Solution_

After conducting a thorough analysis, we identified four key issues that contribute to increased friction points for users.

  • Designed choices with a clear and defined path
  • Provide clear and specific user feedback
  • Clear and intuitive navigation
  • Ease in rectifying errors.

Prototypes_

Iterative design of low and high fidelity prototypes, guided by feedback and observational interviews, was employed to optimize usability and drive software development.

Assets Library_

A well-structured library houses all the assets required for test plan and scenario development, facilitating effortless navigation, editing, and viewing.

Editor_

Our intuitive drag-and-drop editor, accompanied by clear instructions and instant feedback, simplifies the editing process and minimizes errors. Additionally, a helpful sidebar offers technical support and assistance.
